The computationally intensive nature of many life science algorithms and the necessity for ease of development has played a key role in the shift toward UNIX-based platforms for bioinformatics. This session will present techniques and tools for quick deployment of critical UNIX algorithms on Mac OS X, Apple s UNIX based operating system with a BSD core. Presenters will also demonstrate the capability to integrate these algorithms with other frameworks and tools on the Mac platform.
