Integration of BioPerl for the analysis of plant genomic sequences at Orion Genomics

Orion Genomics uses GeneThresherTM technology to generate and sequence gene-rich genomic libraries from the plant kingdom. The sequences are processed then analyzed in an automated BLAST pipeline for first pass sequence annotation. BioPerl has been incorporated into the pipeline to facilitate sequence processing, BLAST analysis, and annotation. We will describe how BioPerl has been integrated and how the use of BioPerl objects will facilitate future improvements.
