XML Web Services Part 1: The Data Model
Don Box, XML Messaging Architect, Microsoft Corporation

Track: Emerging Technology Tutorial
Date: Monday, May 13
Time: 8:30am - 12:00pm
Location: Lawrence

The world of XML and web services can be viewed from two angles. One angle focuses on the underlying data model, which is based on XML Schemas. The other angle focuses on the processing model, which is based on an amalgam of technologies, including SOAP, WSDL, XSLT, and XML Query. This tutorial focuses on the XML Infoset and XML Schemas, and is an important foundation for Part 2: The Processing Model.
