For better or worse, many of the most exciting emerging technologies -- peer-to-peer systems, wireless networking, software defined radio, to name but a few-- intersect the law in often unanticipated ways. This half-day tutorial will offer an overview of some of these intersections, especially in the areas of copyright, trade secrets, patents and computer intrusion law. In addition to addressing the existing legal conflicts, the tutorial will explore possible future intersections and what influence they may have over the course of new technology development.
