Mitch Kapor and Andy Hertzfeld discuss the design, architecture, and development of Chandler, a new, open source Personal Information Manager, currently under development by the Open Source Applications Foundation.
Chandler will comprise both a polished application itself and a platform for developing information management applications. It takes a fresh view of email, calendar, contacts, and instant messaging functionality, and features sophisticated information sharing based on easy, server-optional networking.
The talk includes a demonstration of an early version of the Chandler application.
