With today's Internet, elegant UI typically comes with poor software
architecture--we have learned to accept that a rich, thoughtfully conceived
user interface will not get beyond the prototype stage. When an application
moves from design concept to actual implementation, the design invariably
gets lost in the translation, and the usual HTML interface comes out the
other side.
In this session, David Temkin, CTO and VP Engineering of Laszlo Systems, and
Oliver Steele, Chief Software Architect for Laszlo Systems, describe how
Laszlo's rich internet platform bridges the gap between great design and
robust software architecture. They discuss how software developers and
designers can collaborate to build great applications that are scalable,
modular, and maintainable, and how these teams can combine their core
strengths to create the best possible user experiences.
