This is a panel for programmers, designers, and entrepreneurs who are curious about how emerging technologies (wireless, mobile, sensors, P2P) are percolating through the Pentagon, and what this may mean for software developers and citizens as the 900-lb military gorillas (Department of Homeland Security, Armed Forces, Intelligence Agencies and research organizations like DARPA) strive for a "revolution in military affairs," often stumbling along the way.
The panel is moderated by J.C. Herz, an author and researcher who recently went over to the Dark Side and currently advises DOD on strategic emerging technologies (e.g., social software and distributed virtual environments). Panelists include both Defense personnel and private sector entrepreneurs who've developed technology for DOD and have the scars to prove it.
