How do simple rules create complex patterns? What can games teach us about unintended consequences of outcomes or rules? This presentation will offer a hands-on demonstration of freely available tools allows users to rapidly manipulate various sets of local rules governing software-agents to accomplish an objective. Concepts such as these have been used recently in films such as "Jurassic Park" and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. This session will examine how (using simple agent games) unintended (or intended!) results can be developed by deliberate manipulation of the interactions between agents.
