Unlike other talks about newly emerging topics, Ruby's centers around the reemergence of appreciation applications centered around the venerable HTTP protocol.
"Just use HTTP" is at the core of a number of suggestions, and can truly represent a radical simplification in one's architecture. However, such an approach is not as well understood as you might think. There are a number of pitfalls and surprises that one should be aware of, many of which apply equally as well to traditional SOAP based web services.
