The power of new frameworks and service-based APIs has enabled new kinds of interactions between users and services. But the limits of human cognition, the APIs that are slow to evolve, have remained the same. How can we stay true to the core mission of empowering people and providing easy-to-use tools, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries on what’s possible?

This session pulls lessons from sociology, interaction design, psychology, and the history of both technology development and the craftof designing things for people, and applies them to the new challenges Web 2.0 enables.
