TutorialSOLD OUT Scaling Fast and Cheap - How We Built Flickr
Cal Henderson, Lead Developer, Flickr/Yahoo!
Flickr was launched at the 2003 Emerging Technology conference and
has since grown beyond all expectations into the poster child of
Web 2.0. In this full day tutorial we'll look at how the Flickr
team built and scaled the application quickly from it's real-time
environment roots to the de-facto repository for 60 million photos
it's become.
The session will focus on topics that have real, practical value and can be applied to any large web application. We'll cover everything from coordinating small and remote teams to scaling out software and hardware infrastructures. Everything that most developers wish they'd known before tackling a huge professional web application. There's a lot of content to pack into a single day, but it's all valuable information if you're serious about building an enterprise level web application. |
