Last year at ETech I presented a list of three things I thought were critical to moving a product from the merely "good" into the stratosphere of "great," where you share space with the Apple iPod, Brad Pitt, and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama." This year I'll report back on some startups that seem to have taken my advice, and some established companies that are going in the wrong direction. Among other things I'll talk about how AJAX can help let the user feel completely in control and increase their happiness, which leads to the kind of remarkable products that achieve blockbuster success.
