Keynote

CANCELLED Practical Magic with nqAI

Kathy Sierra

Date: Tuesday, March 27
Time: 8:50am - 9:35am
Location: Douglas BC

Emerging technology is still... emerging. While we're waiting, there are things we can do today to give our products a more human feel. The nqAI approach (not-quite-Artificial-Intelligence) gives us some of the benefits of AI, but without the budget. Or the time. Or the AI. By applying the accidental result of an early AI project, almost any app can be dramatically improved with a few simple, subtle shifts to either the product itself or simply the ecosystem around the product.

We must never forget that even with all our advanced, sci-fi-like, indistinguishable-from-magic technology, most users still hate our software. Best practices in usability are helping, but they're not enough. Applying nqAI can make our apps not only "usable" but maybe even "loveable."
