Come hear and see an in-depth review of Microsofts Live Search 3D Map product and the platform on which it runs. Specifically, Curlander will present the technologies behind the creation of the Virtual Earth 3D world. His talk will include a description of the camera designs used to collect the imagery; the photogrammetric computer vision techniques developed to automate construction of the 3D world; the publishing system, application, and tile servers that make this data available on the Internet; and the rendering and map control used in the client. He will also touch on tough problems that have been solved, the challenges remaining, and technologies that are under development.
