Bill Katz

Bill Katz is a Senior Scientist in the Dept. of Bioengineering at Stanford University. He works with the Stanford Cardiovascular Biomechanics Lab to develop open source simulation software. Aside from his academic research, Katz is developing Writertopia, a Ruby on Rails web app for the writing community. His past work includes software for neurosurgery and cancer radiotherapy, and a sci-fi short story that won grand prize in the 2003 Writers of the Future contest. He studied biology and computer science at Stanford and received an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
