Leveraging the Best of Web 2.0 Technologies for Mobile Networks

Track: BOF
Date: Tuesday, January 24
Time: 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: Salon C

Moderated by Ajay Madhok

Today we have many IDS that we use in our communications -- workphone, mobile, email, IM, VOIP,etc. and there are many pain points with these IDs (such having too many of them, lack of interoperability amongst them, and change management). But there is a larger issue that this BOF will focus on -- that is lack of control. Once we have given an ID to others, we lose all control -- Access, Usage, Privacy, Synchronization and Expiry. As a consequence, we get spammed and lose privacy. Further the network and the clling party is not aware of our current context and the privileges that we would like to give to various relationships in our social network.

In summary, the BOF will talk about leveraging the best of Web 2.0 to rovide Choice, Privacy and Control to our communications.
