| Peter Nixon Suntel Communications Peter Nixon is a born technologist and entrepreneur with broad experience in IP telephony network design and deployment. He is a strong believer in open source software and has been using Linux since 1994. He personally contributes to a number of open source projects in his spare time and pays the salary of several full time programmers devoted to solving problems with open source software deployed for customers. While living (by choice) in Istanbul, Turkey for the last four years, Nixon has deployed leading/bleeding edge technology in some of the more "interesting" surrounding countries and in doing so has pushed many technologies to (and sometimes beyond) the breaking point. Nixon's title is chief technologist and he owns and runs a company with a Turkish partner called Suntel Communications. He also recently launched a second company in Australia called Sunkom Australia, in partnership with Craig Southeren of OpenH323 fame. The primary open source projects he is affiliated with are FreeRADIUS, OpenPBX.org, SER, and CPhone although he dabbles with others. |
