| Lisa Stifelman Tellme Lisa leads Tellmes world-class team of voice user interface specialists, and is ultimately responsible for the design of all applications on the Tellme Network. Lisa received her Ph.D. from the MIT Media Laboratory Speech Interface Group, and a B.S. in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University. Her background combines user interface expertise with extensive experience developing speech and audio applications. A world-renowned expert in her field, Lisa has been designing and developing interactive voice applications for more than 12 years. In 1990 she developed VoiceNotes the first voice interface enabling users to dynamically create and organize speech recordings. After completing her Ph.D., Lisa founded AudioVelocity, Inc. to develop specialized audio recording software and devices. In early 1999, Lisa was the first person recruited by company founders Mike McCue and Angus Davis to join Tellme Networks. Lisa went on to lead the design of the critically acclaimed AT&T Wireless #121 service and 1-800-555-TELL, personally designing and developing the Sports channelone of the most sophisticated and natural-sounding uses of concatenative speech in deployment today. Based on more than a year of usability testing and call listening for the entire 1-800555-TELL service, Lisa defined extensive voice UI design standards, and established an iterative design process for the company. In addition to managing the UI team, Lisa works in close collaboration with the Tellme audio team to create custom demos for new clients that lay the foundation for future user interfaces. Prior to Tellme, Lisa worked at AT&T, the Apple Human Interface Group, and Interval Research Corporation. |
