A variety of open source tools are used throughout openBC (Open Business Club), both to keep the web site running and to provide customer support – providing a significant cost advantage over proprietary alternatives deployed by some competitors. The talk will outline how open source tools-- including LAMP (Perl), memcached, exim, and many more--have been deployed in a way that allows openBC to deliver low-latency performance on approximately 200 million SSL-encrypted page views per month to over one million users.
