The Ruby on Rails session will be half crash course, half sprawling overview. We'll walk through bootstrapping an application by generating the initial model and controller code, and then take a look at the foundational CRUD patterns on top of which all apps are built.

Once the basics are under your belt we'll go over the highlights. Along the way we'll have a look at main tools you'll use when building your application: Rails conventions, debugging approaches, Ajax and rjs, the plugin system, remedies for performance gotchas, and end it up with a look at how to use Capistrano to deploy your application.
