BlackBadger grew from a need to automate test infastructures over a wide range of different platforms. For example, testing a LAMP infastructure with all the components on one machine, compared to testing them distributed over a number of machines. Existing tools, such as SmartFrog, proved too cumbersome and complicated, coupled with a steep learning curve. BlackBadger was designed to utilize the well-known Apache Ant scripting language with a self-discovery network to remotely schedule tasks for execution, with full logging and real time monitoring coming back to a central location.

This session will introduce the power BlackBadger brings as SpikeSource releases this tool under an open source license.
