Andrew Kelly
Founder, Cognisync LLC
Andrew Kelly is founder of a company focused on helping software firms leverage their user communities as competitive weapons. Prior to starting Cognisync, he was Practice Manager of CollabNets Developer Network Consulting Practice, designing and constructing developer networks and open source communities. Hes spoken at several conferences on how to take a structured approach to designing a developer community. Hes also recently done a stint in the Peace Corps in Kazakhstan, and as a result now has visions of facilitating offshore development in that region.
Prior to CollabNet he was Director of Services for a small consulting firm called Configuration Management, Inc (CMI). Prior to CMI he spent several years in technical leadership positions at both IBM Global Services and Electronic Data Systems (EDS).
Complementing to his work in high tech is an eclectic blend of experience and education. In addition to his Peace Corps time he also spent four years as an Air Force Officer/ Desert Storm Veteran, and was a meteorologist and avid storm chaser He holds a B.A. in Math, B.S. in Meteorology, an MBA in Finance and is PMI certified. He speaks Russian conversationally.
