As the AJAX movement accelerates, discussion emerges about best practices. We know that AJAX can dramatically improve the user experience. But can it also fundamentally improve the productivity of developers creating web applications? Model-driven AJAX is a way to build dynamic, server-driven UIs, without having a server.

In this hands-on tutorial, participants will see a web application emerge from a static mockup, through iterations with productivity-enhancing XML/XSLT tools, and concluding with the connection to an application server. The asset drawer in Kupu, the OSCOM-hosted CMS editor, will be highlighted.

The tutorial will conclude with analysis of the impact of this approach on a consulting practice.
