Session
Recovering Data with GNU/Linux
Marty Pauley, Kasei
Track: Security
Date: Thursday, 20 October 2005
Time: 14:20 - 15:05
Location: St. John's Room II
There are many ways you can lose data: your hard disk may fail; a disgruntled employee may purge important email from his Outlook folders; your password may be safely locked inside your browser; or you may just not be able to find it. Fortunately, basic data recovery is quite easy on a GNU/Linux system.
In this short presentation, Pauley explains how GNU/Linux tools can be easily used to recover data you thought had been destroyed.
