Buildings Apps with Subversion
Greg Stein, Uber Tech Lead/Manager, Google
Track: Linux
Date: Wednesday, 19 October 2005
Time: 14:20 - 15:05
Location: Grand Ballroom
Subversion is more than a version control system. It also provides
basic technology for building new types of applications. You can build upon Subversion's data storage, networking facilities, and synchronization, to reduce your efforts and increase your robustness.
In this talk, Greg Stein will show how you can build applications on top of Subversion's
libraries. He will cover the basic architecture, and follow up by describing the features of the Subversion APIs, and providing simple examples with the Python bindings. Lastly, he will demonstrate how the
SubWiki application was built using Subversion's data storage system.
