Understanding of attitudes towards and
usage of Free/Libre/Open Source Software has been based on anecdotes. Within the EU-funded FLOSSPOLS project, a large comprehensive survey of government IT managers was conducted in 10 languages across 13 EU countries leading to a total of 955 valid responses. This is probably the world's largest detailed survey of FLOSS use in government, and shows interesting results.
