Session
The interLDAP Project
Sébastien Bahloul, Service Manager, LINAGORA
Track: Products & Services
Date: Thursday, 20 October 2005
Time: 14:20 - 15:05
Location: Seasons Room
Through different identity projects, a French team has created the
core of the "InterLDAP" project. Thanks to a powerful directory engine,
data, models and access controls are managed through a web interface.
The conceptual layout of the project targets four different domains :
identity management, provisioning, access control and Single Sign-On.
The latter is achieved through other projects (ASelect, CAS, LemonLDAP,
...).
This presentation will explain the main goals of the project and launch a
call for developers to create a real community around open source
identity management. The project's purpose is not only to solve technical
issues, but to be able to manage human ressources software integration,
identity management processes with fine grain privacy respect.
The core part of this project is written in Java and requires a good
knowledge of LDAP stuff. But to be able to share the same authorization
mechanisms through LDAP connectivity, another access control module
(overlay)
has been written, allowing LDAP connectivity as an OpenLDAP backend. So
if you are interested in identity management and you want to be able to
do it without any commercial products, do join us to complete the project !
