This paper describes the authors’ experience in automating business rules with Enterprise Java Beans (EJB). A business rules framework with distributed component architecture is presented in this paper. With this framework, rules can be changed dynamically without changing the source code of the application system manually. A repository-based approach used in this framework makes the rule management possible.
