Selecting the Best Distributed Collaboration Styles for a J2EE Application

Grant Holland

Track: J2EE
Date: Wednesday, March 28
Time: 1:30pm - 2:15pm

This talk demonstrates how to select the most appropriate middleware and distributed collaboration style for any particular situation in a J2EE application. In order to accomplish this, a new model of distributed collaboration is presented and is used to select collaboration styles for various situations. The model considers JavaRMI, JavaIDL, JMS and HTTP. Issue is taken with the notion that loose-coupling is always less complex and more extensible than tight-coupling.
