By 2002, many Motorola handsets will run J2ME. This product initiative will eventually open up hundreds of millions of wireless Internet enabled devices for software developers around the world. It is now possible to develop and dynamically deploy customer driven mobile end-to-end solutions for these resource-constrained platforms with industry-standard APIs. This talk will cover the following aspects of Motorola J2ME initiative: (1) background and vision; (2) software and system architectures; (3) product and API roadmap; (4) application and service deployment; and (5) application and service opportunities.
