Mac OS X is Just Another UNIX - Writing Portable Applications
Kevin Burton, OpenPrivacy.org

Track: Unix
Date: Tuesday, October 01
Time: 5:45pm - 6:30pm
Location: Stevens Creek

Currently, there are a number of Unix applications that are available and work very well under Mac OS X (Apache, Emacs, etc). Unfortunately, the reverse is not true. Most Mac OS X applications take advantage of platform specific features which rely on proprietary technology which is not portable to other Unix systems. This session covers how to develop brilliant Mac OS X applications which are also portable to other Unix systems such as Linux, BSD, and Solaris.
