The Mac has always been one of the major platforms of choice for video
development. A major issue facing development is how to manage the
terabytes of media assets in possession of even the most novice video
hobbiest. Unix--and in particular, MySQL--brings to the Mac platform tools
that can aid in organizing your video assets for efficient production and
post-production work.
In this tutorial, George Reese looks at the role of MySQL and other Unix tools in solving the problems of digital media management. In particular, the
tutorial covers:

- The sharing of online and offline media assets among a team members
