Mac OS X clearly raises the bar for application graphic content. New imaging applications not only create outstanding graphics, but also integrate seamlessly with a developer's need for version control, web-based collaboration, and a streamlined workflow.
Scott Nichol shows developers how to leverage new technologies built into Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator, and GoLive to streamline graphics content creation in their development workflow. Developers will learn how to create application graphic content for print, web, and Interface Builder and then manage these files using version control and collaboration features of built-in WebDAV services. Developers will also learn how scripting these applications can save time and effort during their next release cycle.
Don't Redraw, Repurpose
Working with a combination of high resolution raster images and vector illustrations, a developer can create print-ready promotional materials, crisp and lean web graphics, and Interface Builder image files from a single source image--all produced with consistent color and brand identity.
Share and Share Alike
WebDAV server integration readily available from the File menu of many graphics applications provide teams the collaboration and version control tools necessary for every aspect of application development across local and wide area networks.
Variable Imagery
Got a new version coming out but no time to rewrite your promotional materials? Worried about those now stale web graphics? Don't sweat it, script it! Scriptable graphics applications allow text tagged as variables in images files to be changed and re-published dynamically with scripting languages.
