QuickTime and MPEG-4 in Mac OS X
Rhonda Stratton, Apple

Track: Emerging Topics
Date: Thursday, October 03
Time: 1:30pm - 2:15pm
Location: Bayshore

QuickTime 6 provides the first widely-distributed ISO-compliant MPEG-4 video and audio architecture, and contains a full suite of developer APIs, a media player, and toolset for MPEG-4 creation. This session introduces the MPEG-4 standard and addresses its importance to Macintosh users and content creators. Stratton discusses how the consumer electronics market as well as the pro video market are reacting to these standards, and demonstrates how to author MPEG-4 standards-based content.
