Mac OS Development Lessons From Bare Bones
Rich Siegel, Bare Bones Software

Track: Mac OS X in the Large
Date: Wednesday, October 02
Time: 5:00pm - 5:45pm
Location: Winchester

The last ten years have seen both good and bad times for the Mac software community. Through it all, Rich Siegel and his team built up a company from scratch, produced the award winning BBEdit text editor, rode the Internet wave as BBEdit became the premier HTML editor on the Mac, and became explorers into the frontiers of the Carbon API as Mac OS X entered the scene.

Siegel presents this history and distills the lessons from it that can be applied to the new software ecosystem that is developing with the emergence and maturation of Mac OS X.
