OK, so what really is this Unix thing? You've heard that Mac OS X is "based on Unix," and you want to know more. Maybe you have friends and colleagues who use Linux, but you yourself are just starting out.

Enzer's tutorial is a basic introduction to Unix, using Mac OS X, concentrating on the command-line interface that you are probably scared of - but don't need to be.

Enzer covers what Unix is (and isn't), shows you what the "command line" is and how to get to it, and presents many examples of what you can do with the Unix layer of Mac OS X.

By the end of the tutorial you will have a basic understanding of how Unix works and be ready to decide if you want to further pursue learning Unix.
