Rendezvous is based on the simple question, "If we've settled on IP for communicating in wide area networks, why don't we do the same in local networks?" In this hands-on workshop, we'll look at the three legs of the solution: obtaining an IP address without DHCP, obtaining a locally unique name without DNS, and browsing for services in a manner that is both computer- and human-friendly. Bring your laptop--we'll work on an extended example of Rendezvous enabling an application.
