This session is designed to introduce some of the lesser-used UI technologies in Mac OS X and show developers and designers how to exploit them in an effective Mac-like user interface. Some of the technologies introduced include Text to speech, Speech recognition, Ink and handwriting. How do these interact with standard UI components like buttons and menus? What is a good user interface design using these tools? When should they be used? What are alternative approaches?
