With Mac OS X comes the ability to execute thousands of UNIX-based applications. Among these are many free, time-tested tools used to backup and archive data. Open source software is not only free to use but is impressively fast and dependable. More importantly, you do not have to be a command-line wizard to use these tools. After you have established an appropriate backup strategy you will be in full control of your data. This talk takes a look at these open source tools and how they can be used to implement reliable backups.
