Mac OS X is the fastest growing Unix platform on the market today, and the Cocoa object-oriented development environment is the ideal framework for writing Mac OS X applications. There is a lot to learn about this powerful combination and the first place to start is with a firm understanding of the Objective-C language and the Cocoa Framework classes.
In this tutorial, you'll learn how Objective-C extends the ANSI C language with a highly dynamic set of object-oriented abilities as well as learn how strings, collections, and memory-management work. After this foundation is covered, you'll learn how Cocoa GUI applications are put together and the various types of applications that you can build. After taking this tutorial, you'll have a firm grounding to explore the various parts of Cocoa and will know where to go next.
