"Oh, look! Applescript! How...quaint!"

Don't give me that. Yes, it's true: there was a time when AppleScript was just a tool for automating the rearrangement of your Finder windows, or translating the first section of your company's annual report into Egg Latin. But look, there was also a time when the world's pornography was stored and accessed using ineffecient analog formats. We've evolved since then. Today, simple, easy to learn, easy to maintain AppleScript is a credible tool for application development...and it's often the preferable tool.
