Moderated by: Ed Peterlin, Lead MacIntosh Developer, BIOPAC Systems, Inc. Cocoa is a beautiful environment for rapid programming, but has a definite "approved" model for applications. Some applications cannot be coded in this framework, and some low level functionality simply isn't exposed by the Cocoa APIs. Some key features of Cocoa, such as its thread safety, are simply undocumented and can only be learned right now from experience. Come learn some of the hacks used in the NeoOffice porting project, how changes in Cocoa have broken your hacks, and share some of your own favorite hacks!
