Physical Interfaces for Musical Performance
Jason Moore

Track: Digital Audio
Date: Wednesday, October 27
Time: 4:15pm - 5:05pm
Location: Magnolia

As more and more people turn to digital paradigms for industrial and commerical applications, an increasing ammount of surplus equipment finds it's way to auction and thrift stores. This talk will address the different options that programmers and musicians can harvest these materials and utilize them to create exciting new physical interfaces. Unlike pre-made joysticks and keyboards, these interfaces are unique and can take on the character of their creators, allowing artists, musicians, and gamers alike to fully personalize their workspaces.
