This session will examine the idiosyncrasies of common email and web content concerns. On the email front, the presentation will revolve around script and attachment viruses, unsolicited email, and their prevention. A suggested solution will be detailed -- implemented using SpamAssassin, the Anomy Sanitizer, and other open source tools. The combination of these tools with Mac OS X Server's Mail services create a low-cost and effective solution for filtering email content. On the web front, the presentation will focus on the filtration of inappropriate content of both a moral and technical manner. A solution using the Squid proxy server in concert with other open source tools will be presented.
