Critical to Mac OS X's place in any enterprise is its ability to make use of enterprise directories -- centralized network repositories for users, groups, security policy, and other administrative data. Due to its ubiquitous nature, Microsoft's Active Directory plays a particularly important role. Apple has taken a great leap forward in Panther, embracing Active Directory and investing significant resources into making Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server good network citizens. This session will explore those capabilities in-depth, with specific emphasis on single sign-on, client management technologies, and the fundamental aspects of Mac OS X's directory integration architecture.
