Mac OS X has some options imaging and software distribution, but Radmind gives you options not available in other tools. Radmind is open source software that a suite of command line tools with a GUI front-ends on Mac OS X. At the core, Radmind runs as a tripwire, but it goes beyond integrity checking because it can reverse those modifications. You can define and control the managed state of clients file system customize it to the smallest detail. Radmind offers granularity from per machine or application or individual file system object allowing you can upgrade/downgrade OS, application or individual configuration remotely.

Radmind minimizes network/server utilization by comparing the client and managed file system locally and doesn't talk over the network during scan. It offers flexibility in identifying managing clients from IP, hostnames, IP ranges, wildcards, and SSL certificates.

Radmind allows you to easily control the entire process of patch/package management. It tracks installation, allows you to find/correct security issues like world writes or SUID/SGID. You can add, remove, upgrade/downgrade software, OS & individual updates on a per client, sub-group or entire organization basis.

This session covers using Radmind to manage the file system of Mac OS X, including features and benefits of radmind, overview of concepts, descriptions of command line and GUI tools, and quick overview of initial baseload, updating client, and creating overloads.
