This session details the Suzuki Sales P.R.O. kiosk project, which required that MicroSoft Active X technology be integrate with an application running on Windows XP using a robust database manager capable of fast reads with both secure and reliable periodic updates from a Linux server over high speed and low speed connections. The Suzuki Sales P.R.O. was named 2004 Kiosk of the Year by Kiosk.com.

MySQL version 4.0.15 is the persistence engine that has now been deployed in over 600 remote sites hosting Windows XP and running a .NET application. The application using the MySQL database consists of three dimensional models, two dimensional models and movie clips running inside the .NET hosted Active X container.
