This tutorial leads you from basic MySQL performance optimization concept to advanced techniques.

We'll look at main performance optimization possibilities--schema optimization, server options tuning, operation server tuning, hardware selection and tuning, and application architecture. We'll dig into MySQL storage engines to find out their performance properties and best usages for all of them. We'll learn how MySQL Optimizer works and how to help it to get the performance you need. We'll also examine new MySQL 4.1 features, as well as shed some light on MySQL 5.0 planned performance improvement.

Finally, we'll get to specific problems typically found in Interactive applications and propose their solutions with MySQL.
