SessionDynamic SQL in Stored Procedures
Konstantin Osipov, Software Developer, MySQL AB
Much of the current database administration work with MySQL is done by means
of external language scripts. With the introduction of stored procedures this
work can be performed in a simpler and faster fashion on the server side.
But a stored procedure is limited if its statements cannot address ad hoc
needs and depend on exact database schema. Use of Dynamic SQL addresses this
problem.
This session is targeted at MySQL database administrators and developers and its goal is to highlight the capabilities of Dynamic SQL with a set of sample PSM/SQL administration programs. |
