SessionBuilding OLAP Applications with Mondrian and MySQL
Julian Hyde, OLAP Architect and Mondrian Project Founder, Pentaho
Mondrian is an open source OLAP server that makes it easy to build web-based business intelligence applications. Mondrian is pure Java, and does not require any external storage: it reads data directly from an RDBMS, and uses an in-memory cache to provide rapid response to queries. It has a number of interfaces, including the JPivot HTML pivot table library.
In this talk, we will demonstrate how to build Mondrian cubes on top of a set of MySQL tables. We will introduce the MDX query language, and show how to build web-based OLAP reports and charts. |
